Research Interests

Research staff at the group of Cosmology and Extragalactic Astrophysics. His research interests are on the field of Cosmology in particular in the study of the distribution of galaxies in the Universe on large-scales (what is know as the large-scale structure). They use this distribution to understand how the universe started, how it evolved until today and what the reasons for the current accelerated expansion. He is an expert in using different theoretical tools to this end as well as developing numerical simulations and interpreting observational data from large galaxy surveys. He is a leading scientist in several such surveys, PAU (www.pausurvey.org), DES (www.darkenergysurvey.org) and Euclid. Some of these projects have already started collecting data while others (Euclid) will do so in 5-8 years from now.
